O.L. Gregory moved his vinegar plants from Texas into Arkansas around the turn of the 20th century, which proved to be a successful move. One of the branches of business that sprouted during the apple industry success along the Ozarks were vinegar processing plants. Orchard farmers in the region had a mass influx of inferior apples that couldn’t be sold and were mostly thrown away, or used by the farmers. The mass use of inferior apples supplied the plants with a constant supply of apples, allowing the plants to bloom successfully in the region, employing local citizens to upkeep the processing plants.

The sprawling successes of apple branch business like O.L. Gregory Vinegar plant, created jobs and opportunities for many residents of Northwest Arkansas. Witnessing the massive growth of the region, migration towards Northwest Arkansas would entice many residents to the Northwest region, emphasizing the ability of the region to garnish residents and businesses at the same time.
