Arkansas Railroad Commercial Art produced by St. Louis, Iron Mountain & Southern Rail way

Railroad promotional brochures drew attention to the State of Arkansas through its recently developed rail line system, which railroad companies sought profit from. A majority of those living in Arkansas were isolated without a proper mode of transportation, as the phrase “Fills The Bill” is a stamp that defined 20th century Arkansas. A modern State that fit all the personal needs the modern person would need in a state, a change seen in Arkansas at the turn of 20th century. Interconnection through railroads and its potential to link its railroads with other states' railroads enticed many migrants to the area.

Railroad companies by the start of the 20th century were carving Arkansas as a modern state. While at the same time, Northwest Arkansas had been developing its agricultural sector in the background through Horticulture groups and the fruit nurseries they ran.
